Genius Hour Geniuses!

Wow!  Wow!  I am inspired, delighted, and thrilled with the many ways that Division 2 plans on changing the world - and we've only seen half the projects.   Today we heard about creating an artificial pancreas, an app to inform parents when their child is experiencing cyber bullying, gender bias in the workplace, and so, so much more!

There are a few of presentations that could be excellent resources for the future.  Information on Drug Addiction, Suicide Prevention, and even a book list for summer reading!

Important End of Year Dates

Sorry for the belated blog post!  First, I want to start by raving about camp!  The kids were outstanding and everyone had an amazing time.  Honestly, it was one of the best camp experiences we, as teachers, have ever had.  The kids were polite, enthusiastic, kind to one another, and demonstrated gratitude.  And a special thanks to Camp Jubilee.  The staff were professional, fun, and the food was yummy!  What a great year!

There are lots of things happening as we wind up the year.

Important Dates:
Thursday, June 22 - Desks and lockers cleaned out. Bring a bag.
Friday, June 23 - Playland!
Wednesday, June 28 - 9:30 Grade 7 Stepping Up Ceremony and then Kits Beach.
Thursday, June 29 - 9:15 Awards Assembly, Last Day of School, & Report Cards

Camp!

Things are pretty crazy in Division 2 right now.  I am sorry I keep forgetting to take a photo of the homework board!  Most importantly, camp is on Monday!

Here are some reminders:

  • All students need to be at Wolfe by 8:30 am on Monday.
  • Students will return Wednesday around 12:30 pm.  Students will be exhausted, and so will be dismissed once they've unloaded the buses and gathered their belongings.
  • Students need to pack 2 bags:
    • 1 with clothing, sleeping bag/pillow, and 'non-meltables',
    • and a second with 'meltable' (ie. toiletries, flashlight, liquids).
    • The complete list was sent home after Spring Break and I posted the link on last week's blog.
  • Electronic devices and food items are strictly prohibited.
  • All medications (including Advil etc.) are to be bagged, labelled with name and instructions, and given to Ms. Husdon prior to boarding the bus.
Mrs. Soper will be there the first night, and Miss Kelly will be there for the second night, so we are there to help with homesickness pangs, or anything else that comes up.  If you have any questions, feel free to email.

Fingers crossed for some sunshine.
