We had an amazing presentation today from the Vancouver Police Department about Cyber Safety. It was very informative, but also very intense. The kids had an hour's worth of questions after the presentation. The questions ranged from how many Instragram followers you should have to what was pornography and why did it exist? (And genius... why does Google even let you search it!) Your child may have more questions brewing. Please be aware, and perhaps even monitor their computer use for a couple weeks, or ask them about their followers: Do they know them all? Is there anyone who has been pursuing their "friendship" online? Are they worried about their online interactions? It's a crazy new world out there!
On a lighter note, we had a great morning at the Vancouver School Board putting up our art. Thank you to the parents who took time out this morning to drive us there and back. We couldn't have done it without you! The students should be very proud of their outstanding artwork, and writing. It just gets me more excited for their coming Inquiry Project essays!
