Novel Study Final Project

Novel Study projects have officially begun! Good job Division 1 for reading your novel and getting those Reading Powers and Dear Author letters in on time. We have officially launched our creative Novel Study projects and there are some important dates to remember (see calendar below).
Students should be inquiring about what they would like to do for their project. It is important that they focus on the themesettingcharacter(s), point of view and plot (conflict and resolution) of the novel. I have provided a handout for the students to brainstorm and organize their information (I highly recommend that they start with that handout before beginning their projects).
Here are my two hints about how you should choose what to do for your project:
1. Your creative project should make sense to your novel. Some of the students are thinking about creating a board game, but it may not make sense for their particular novel because there are minimal characters or a “weak” plot lineThink about what will work for your particular novel.
2. Students should create a project that build on their strengths. Create something that you are good at. For the students who enjoy art, incorporate your art skills into your project. For the students who are good at technology, use technology to create your project. You know yourself best, so show your best work!
I’m excited to see the finished products because I know they will be amazing.

Good Luck Division 1!!
Ms. Manhas
