Week of April 20th

  1. To Do:

  2. Heritage Fair 2.0:   Great job getting your presentations uploaded into your Assignment.  If you still have not done that, Mrs. Soper will be contacting you to help.  This week is your chance to improve your presentation!  See the SS tab for more details.  PS. Don't forget to include your bibliography!

  1. Time Capsule Week 1 Assignment: Complete and submit your second entry by Sunday, April 26th.  See the Literacy Tab for more details.

  1. Body Systems Web:  Ms. Kelly has uploaded the information sheets to the Notebook.  Check them out to make sure you have all the information.  You are also welcome to do your own research.  Don’t forget to check out the rubric in the Assignment for more details. Please complete and submit it in the Assignments Tab by Wed, April 22nd.

  1. Novel Study Book: Now that you have all selected a novel.  It’s time to divide your novel into chunks just like we did for Lit Circles.  Check out the Novel Study Tab in the Notebook for details.  Please fill out your schedule and turn it in via Assignments.  You can start reading once that is complete!

  1. Math 7 Ravenclaw/Segers:
    1. - Khan Academy - 1 quiz, 2 video lessons and 2 tasks (plus any of the review questions from last week if not done)
    2. - Please complete 5. And 5.3 Video Lessons and complete the questions posted in the assignments in Teams. Pages 169/170 and 175/176.

  1. Math 7 Hufflepuff/Jekubik For math, my kids need to check their Khan Academy accounts to see what's been assigned. I've put 3-weeks worth of material on there. They are permitted to work ahead, but must finish the assigned tasks by their due dates. The due dates for the new assignments on KA are correct.

  1. Math 6:
    1. - Fractions of a Whole Lesson: Watch Mrs. Soper’s Powerpoint Lesson and complete the worksheet.  Access through Assignments.  Please ensure you “Turn In” and upload your completed sheet to your My Work by Friday, April 24th .
    2. - Khan Academy Fractions to Decimals Assignment.  Please log in and complete by Friday, April 24th.  Please ensure you watch all the videos as I am tracking your progress.
    3. - Additionally: you can do p. 165 in Jump 6.1 if you have it at home and/or if you want extra practice.

    4. This week, we will be having our Small Group meetings throughout the week, a Power Point/Tech Share Tuesday at 2, and well as the weekly math lesson on Wednesday at 11.  Have a great week!

    5. Additional Options:

    6. French:
Did you watch Toopy and Binou? What about reading or watching a Tintin?  The comics were originally in French, but are also available in English.

      Health & P.E:
Have you tried P.E. with Joe?   Or maybe you are feeling a little more adventurous?   How about a Jedi Workout?  This week, grab a bike, board, or scooter and head out for a ride.  It feels good to check outside. Don't forget your helmet.

      Career:
Create a schedule for yourself.  How and when are you going to complete your assignments this week?  Make a list of the things you need to do and plan when you are going to do them.

      Fine Arts:
Build a bird house.  Use a milk carton or jug, use wood, use an old container, but create something beautiful that will bring more birds and their songs into your yard.

      Other:
At 7pm cheer for the health care workers!  Bang pots, clap your hands, hoot and holler!  Show them you appreciate their hard work.

Continue sharing your Try New Things with us!  We've been super impressed so far.

Try to do something nice for the people who are making staying at home possible (grocers, delivery people, sanitation workers, etc.).
